1What data we collect

• Account data: name, email, mobile number and profile photo.
• Order data: items purchased, shipping address and payment status. Card details stay with the payment gateway and never reach Barg.
• Your content: the text of books, articles, notes and highlights.
• Usage data: reading position in each book and device, and, with consent, visit statistics.

2Legal basis for processing

Account and order data are needed to perform our contract with you. Visit statistics and marketing are processed only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

3Retention

• Account data for as long as the account is active.
• Financial records for 5 years, as required by law.
• Visit statistics for up to 14 months, anonymised.

4Sharing with others

Your data is never sold. It is shared only with these parties, and only as much as needed:

• The payment gateway, to process transactions.
• Post or courier companies, to ship print editions.
• The AI translation service, only for text you send for translation yourself.

5Your rights

• Access: get a copy of your data.
• Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: ask for your account and data to be deleted.
• Portability: get your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection & restriction: object to or restrict processing.
• Withdraw consent: via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

6Security

Connections to the site are encrypted and passwords are stored hashed. In case of any data breach we notify affected users within 72 hours.
